Shelly Harper has over 20 years experience in television programming, scheduling and production. She began her career at Home Sports Entertainment in 1982 as a receptionist. She quickly became the “utility” person assisting in traffic, programming, tape library, remote and studio production. As a freelance graphics operator, her clients included CBS, ESPN, Raycom Sports, SportsChannel and H.S.E. She also worked as an Associate Producer and Producer for many professional team events in Houston for H.S.E. As the program director for Prime Sports Southwest, she was responsible for scheduling multiple professional and collegiate teams, development of underwritten events, negotiating contracts with program suppliers and working with technical operations facility. From 1996-1999 she served as Director of Programming and from 1999-2001 as VP of Scheduling and Program Operations for FOX Sports Net at their corporate headquarters in Los Angeles. She oversaw scheduling and program operations for a national network and its 20+ regional networks. She was the primary point person for scheduling of all collegiate properties with national contracts. She and her staff were responsible for national and regional network program schedules, coordination of syndication packages and technical operations needs.

In her new role as media consultant, Shelly is working with conferences, universities and organizations to generate exposure for their events on television and/or the internet. She helps them better understand the business of sports television and the practices of their media partners.

Shelly Harper has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She is a member of the following organizations: National Association of Television Programming Executives, Women’s Sports Foundation, Women in Sports Careers, Women in Cable and Telecommunications, Rotary Club of Conroe.
